The Chief of Mission´s Residence in Czech Republic, Prague 6
The residence was designed by German architect Maxmilian Spielmann and built by Prague’s well known architect Matěj Blecha as one of the Prague residences of Otto Petschek family in years 1926 - 1928. Palace was built in the French Beaux Arts style as a loose interpretation of Versailles. The central building of palace was built of stone, the side parts were faced with stucco plaster imitating the stone. The garden loggia in the western part of southern terrace was built up at later stage. Under the southern terrace the inside swimming pool is situated. The United States of America gains the ownership of palace after II.WW, after the period of its German occupation. The reconstruction of Residence of U.S. ambassador in Prague was carried out in year 2007. GEMA ART GROUP performed the work in scope of the restoration of statuaries, decorative metal railings, restoration and replicas of historical lamps and restoration of decorative art glass components. GEMA ART GROUP provided the development and application of grinded stucco plaster, the rehabilitation and insulation of base and retaining walls and the complete reconstruction and insulation of the external terraces.
