These two of altogether six gravestones of the Přemyslid sovereigns is the heart of the sculptural decoration found in the Gothic choir of St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague Castle. Their creation is linked to the ceremonial transport of the remains of the Přemyslid princes to the St. Vitus Cathedral, which took place in December 1373 based on an order of Emperor Charles IV. General assessment and restoration of tombstones was financed by the World Monument Fund.
