  • Description of the work:

    Restoration of the exterior façade

  • Realization:

    2025-2026

The Sadová Café in the historic center of Františkovy Lázně has undergone a number of renovations. It was completed in 1857 and subsequently expanded with a veranda with open arcades between 1883 and 1885. The ongoing work is part of the revitalization of the historic café, which will be complemented by a modern extension.

The restoration work involves removing secondary layers of plaster and paint, consolidating and reinforcing problematic areas, treating cracks in the masonry, and reconstructing completely degraded parts of the building. The preserved sandstone figurines will be stripped of non-original coatings, treated, and left in their natural state. After completion of the restoration work, the facade will be treated with a coat of paint in an approved color in accordance with the primary color scheme. If it is decided, it will be treated against moisture.

All materials used in the restoration procedure are based on the requirement of compatibility with the original plaster in terms of structure, color, and composition, and all procedures are continuously consulted with representatives of the National Heritage Institute.
