Technical and restoration survey of works of art

  • Realization:

    2025

The preparation of the Vltava Philharmonic Hall project required a professional technical and restoration survey of the works of art in the public space that decorates the Hlávka Bridge bridgehead and the Vltavská metro station.

The future Vltavská Philharmonic Hall will not only house the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and the Prague Symphony Orchestra, but it will also be the Music department of the Municipal Library of Prague. The project will offer the citizens of Prague generous public spaces, including park landscaping, incorporating the existing historical artworks of the Hlávka Most bridgehead and the Vltavská metro station. In the public space of the metro station, the ordered works included a survey of the Faun and Vltava fountain, ceramic tiles and a circular stained-glass window in the vestibule, including a proposal to protect the works during future construction work. On the Hlávkov Bridge bridgehead, the survey included the sculptural groups Humanity and Work, and the proposal for their transportation. The implementation, in addition to the submission of restoration reports, also included the preparation of a restoration plan and a binding opinion of the Heritage Department of the City of Prague.
