The restoration of monument to Julius Zeyer in Chotek Gardens, created by sculptor Josef Mauder in 1913, was part of a project involving extensive modifications to its surroundings, including paths, green areas, a bridge, the bottom and banks of ponds, a drainage system, and lighting installations.

The project included the restoration of the marble sculpture in the niche of the monument. First, the surface of the sculpture was cleaned of biological growth, washed with steam, cleaned using cellulose wraps, and finally cleaned using laser technology.

This was followed by the treatment of cracks in the rear parts of the sculpture’s drapery, sculptural retouching, and the remodeling of damaged parts of the sculpture (noses, fingers and draperies). Color retouching was performed using light-permanent pigments, the surface was preserved, and finally polished with microcrystalline wax.
