We realized advanced training course for experts from the Restoration and Conservation Department of the Library and House of Manuscripts of Al Atabah Al Abbasiyah Shrine of Holy Karbala from Iraq. Based on the requirements and current needs of the Library and House of Manuscripts the higher level program of the course for the Restoration and Preservation of Paper and Manuscripts was prepared. The course was focused on advancement of the experts knowledge acquired during previous course in the Czech Republic as well as during their work in Karbala in last three years.

This course was prepared in close cooperation with the Faculty of Restoration of the University of Pardubice, the National Archive and the National Library of the Czech Republic. The participants get knowledge of the latest restoration and conservation techniques and operation of the up-to-date special equipment. The education and practical training took place at the renowned conservation laboratories of the Czech National Archive in Prague and the Faculty of Restoration of the University of Pardubice, located in Litomyšl. Through the scientific excursions to Czech museums and libraries, they had the possibility to familiarize themselves with both the history of restoration and the current system. The lecturers of the courses were university educated professionals and the course graduates received the Course Diploma of the Faculty of Restoration of the University of Pardubice.
